Dorsey's daughter, Nellie Ella Lorraine Dorsey is disappointed because she had to postpone her trip to Notre Dame because of her lame foot. Nellie was anxious to write an article on the lace industry introduced by Mother Angela at St. Mary's. Dorsey thanks Professor Joseph Lyons for the Scholastic Annual. Nellie's Ella Loraine Dorsey foot is much better. Dr. Pratt of Chicago must be a first class surgeon. Dorsey sends Part III of "The Story of a Child". Dorsey thinks this will mean the dismissal of many government employees. She protests against the immoral literature which attacks morality and religion that is flooding the country. Father Isaac Hecker invited her through Bishop John J. Keane to write some articles for the Catholic World, but she feels she cannot write for the Catholic World and the Ave Maria....
