Dorsey sends part of a manuscript. She wrote a letter to Archbishop James Gibbons asking for a letter of introduction to some one in Rome for her grandson, Dorsey Mohun, whose ship is to winter at Naples. Dorsey's letter arrived at the time Father Denis Joseph O'Connell, rector of the North American College in Rome was visiting Gibbons, who referred her letter to O'Connell. Dorsey sends a draft for $120.90 half of the royalty paid by the publisher on sales of the uniform edition of her books. In securing "Zoe's Daughter" for the series she will pay Patrick Donohoe $100, half of which he paid Dorsey for the story before the great Post Office fire; and since they share the profits of the edition, she supposes Hudson will be willing to pay one half the cost of the purchase of "Zoe's Daughter". :: X-3-e A.L.S. 2pp. 12mo.

Dorsey thanks Hduson for the $18 he sent her. She realizes Hudson's health is not strong, but begs him not to separate himself from the Ave Maria, for if he does she fears it will return to its old status. Hudson should insist on having an assistant. She has completed "Palms" as well as the story for girls. Dorsey inquires, who wrote "A Troubled Heart"? Dorsey is pleased that Hudson likes "Palms". Monsigneur Robert Seton has commented favorably on it. The article in the Catholic Annual on Chancellor Seton from whom he is descended in the male line and written by him brings out his interest in genealogical studies.
