Dorsey, Anna Hanson, Washington, District of Columbia, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1883 March 3

 Item — Box: CHUD 5
Identifier: CHUD X-2-k

Scope and Contents

Dorsey sends her story "Little Gladys" and the suggestion that the title of the three sketches she previously sent be changed. "Little Gladys" is a real life story about people Dorsey knew. Nugent Robinson 's story "Father Tom" is delightful. Dorsey read Miss Brownson 's life of Father Demetrius Gallitzin and did not like it. While visiting the death place of Gallitzin, Father Reynolds gave her a book of French hymns which belonged to Gallitzin. Dorsey escaped a reception prepared for her by the pastor and parishioners of Saint Augustine's parish Washington. She asks Hudson, who Marion Muir is? Madeleine Dahlgren, Dorsey hears through Admiral Almy, is erecting a handsome house in a fashionable quarter. She compares her virtues with those of Dahlgren's. "South Mountain Witchcraft", Dahlgren's book published by Osgood has fallen flat. Dorsey discussed Dahlgren's translation of "Notre Dame de Liesse" and Mrs. Jamieson 's treatment of the story in her Shrines of the Madonna. :: X-2-k A.L.S. 10pp. 12mo.
