The archival collections housed within the Architecture Library in the Walsh Family Hall of Architecture support the research and curricular needs of the faculty, students, and scholars visiting the School of Architecture by providing access to historical documentation of significant New Traditional and New Urbanist architects and firms, architects/firms who have won the Richard H. Driehaus Prize at the University of Notre Dame, a retrospective collection of student work, rare and exceptional materials, and documentation related to the study of classical and traditional architecture and urbanism.

The University Archives is responsible for the collection, maintenance, and preservation of the official records of the University of Notre Dame as well as other records that document the life of the Catholic Church and her people as lived in the American context.

The University of Notre Dame's Rare Books & Special Collections offer more than 6,000 linear feet of materials including manuscripts, printed ephemera, broadsides, prints, posters, numismatics, and philately. Strengths of our holdings include: Catholic studies, Irish studies, Italian literature, Latin American and Iberian history and literature, sports and physical culture, and theology and church history.
