Dorsey, Anna Hanson, Washington, District of Columbia, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1886 August 23

 Item — Box: CHUD 9
Identifier: CHUD X-3-c

Scope and Contents

Dorsey thanks Hudson for the kind words about her story "Palms". She appreciates receiving the letter in which the writer speaks of Bishop Ryan's praise of her story "Palms". Dorsey inquires if the writer means the Archbishop of Philadelphia, or the Bishop of Buffalo, because Bishop Stephen Michael Ryan of Buffalo sent her a letter of encouragement and an order for three sets of her books. She praises the Ave Maria and thinks that no changes should be made in it. They were pleased by Nellie's Ella Lorraine Dorsey promotion in her job at the Patent Office and she praises President Grover Cleveland for his enforcement of the Civil Service Law. :: X-3-c A.L.S. 5pp. 12mo.
