Scope and Contents Skolla received the Bishop's letter on Nov. 19 containing the law and dispensations of the Church concerning Lent. He also received the Directory for the coming year. Skolla apologizes for having delayed so long with his answer, and for the delay concerning the receipt from Mrs. Sophie Graverod . But the fault lay chiefly in the letter itself as it arrived much later than it should have, according to the date on it. Sloan sends $1.50 for the Freeman's Journal. He was going to discontinue it but did not want to exclude himself from the blessings of religion.
