Mrs. Smalley sends McMaster $3 subscription fees to the Freeman's Journal. Her husband, who died the previous June 15, and herself, have taken the paper ever since they became Catholics 30 years ago. Her husband did no other reading besides devotional reading, and looked forward to the weekly visit of the paper, to see what "McMaster had to say about conditions". He was over 80 at his death.
