They did not like to offer these articles to the public and give them to Edwards for his museum. Lee is surprised to find Blanc's approval in 1858 of a work which teaches that the Immaculate Conception is not an article of faith, the "Catechism of Perseverance", 1857. Lee received a letter from a Mr. Howard stating on the authority of Mr. Erwin that Daniel Crowley formerly of this parish, died on May 9 leaving a property of over $4000 and a gold watch. Scope and Contents He thanks Hudson for the Holy Father's Latin poems. He is 66 years old and finds his ordinary duties at church almost too heavy. He sent a copy of his "History of the Prebendal Church of our B. Lady of Thame, Oxon" for the Notre Dame library. It is the history of the grand old building, the patronage of which was once in a member of his race. In the 15th century it had 6 cardinals. Since his grandfather's death Vicar from 1795 to 1840, it has been divided into four parishes....

He sent through Hudson for the University a copy of his "History of the Prebendal Church of Thame, Oxfordshire." So few copies were printed that it is very rare. There is only one copy in America, that in the library of Washington and Lee University. It cost him much research and money outlay. One of his race Cap. William Lee of Thame went forth in defense of the rights and cause of Queen Mary.

Those for the convent Mr. Casenave will have delivered tomorrow and the letter for Paris, Lee will send by the British steamer leaving January 1. The plantation being $9000 in debt to the bank and having a suit at law with Mr. Solet, the partnership to which she alludes is clearly for the benefit of Trepagnier's mother and other heirs.
