Leeper, David R., South Bend, Indiana to James F. Edwards, Notre Dame, Indiana, 1897 January 05

 Item — Box: CEDW 7, Folder: 27
Identifier: CEDW XI-1-o

Scope and Contents

Daniel McDonald's paper on the "Removal of the Pottawattomies" read before their Historical Society put Leeper to sea on several points. McDonald claims that the cabin described in the Jubilee History on p. 29 was situated at the Twin Lakes, Marshall County, instead of at the twin lakes at Notre Dame. Leeper asks when was the first college building ready to be occupied. As to the little cemetery, Brother Francis informed him that it was started by Badin. Leeper has no clue as to who was buried there or as to the date of its abandonment. He regrets the necessity of annoying Edwards but he has no other way of getting the desired information. :: XI-1-o A.L.S. 2pp.
