He thanks Hudson for the Holy Father's Latin poems. He is 66 years old and finds his ordinary duties at church almost too heavy. He sent a copy of his "History of the Prebendal Church of our B. Lady of Thame, Oxon" for the Notre Dame library. It is the history of the grand old building, the patronage of which was once in a member of his race. In the 15th century it had 6 cardinals. Since his grandfather's death Vicar from 1795 to 1840, it has been divided into four parishes.
