Duggan thanks Lefevere for his letter. He hopes it is the will of God that he remain. He has not seen Father Merle J.B. Merl since but heard he was in town about a week ago. Duggan will in form Merle that Lefevere has written to him. Duggan sends his first pastoral hoping Lefevere will read it. Purcell's letter concerning Father Thomas J. Boulger has been received only recently. Duggan had heard before that Boulger had, as usual, contracted debts in Rockford, Illinois but no application has been made by any of his creditors. Boulger's conduct was not the most exemplary and Duggan had to remove him. He is not bad but weak and undecided. Perhaps Purcell could do something for him. :: II-5-a A.L.S. 2pp. 12mo.

It does one good to receive letters when blue and discouraged with a sickness which came so unexpectedly. For his own physical good he should remain away from classes until next fall. He was pleased to learn that Edwards thought he could visit them. He often tells his people that sometime he is going abroad with Edwards. He has read a great deal. She received her mother's and Edwards' letter. She begins to think Edwards and her mother need to be chaperoned by a nice sedate couple such as Estelle and her husband are. It is a comfort to know that Edwards is with her mother as she knows he will take good care of her. She wants to know exactly how her mother feels. She received Edwards' letter from Indianapolis. Her trip from Chicago was uneventful. Mrs. Keough is indeed a lovely person. Mrs. Relyea lost her diamond earrings. Their new pastor, Father J. She has been very ill since last Sunday. They have just returned from Milwaukee and will go to Dubuque to see Mount Mellary Abbery. Edwards must have enjoyed meeting his old college chums. Col. West has gotten into quite a difficulty through his defense of "Hancock." There were several articles in the papers about him. West's reply will be in tomorrow's "Milwaukee News."
