Howe encloses a check for the New Orleans Carmelites. It is strange that the Sisters of St. Mary's of the Woods had trouble getting their copies of "Record of a Suffering Soul". Howe wrote to the Chicago people about it but got no reply. Howe intended to give them a chance to repair past injustice, but they did not take it.
