Scope and Contents
Howe received the copy of "Record of a Suffering Soul" for which she thanks Hudson. Doctor Kilroy acknowledged receipt of Rose Howe 's Memoirs and sends a copy of Visit to "Bois d' Haine". Father Aegidius Hennemann sent her a picture of St. Francis de Sales to whom she has devotion. Howe knows the original Daisy Garnett who lives in Chicago and visits the Dorseys occasionally in Washington. Eliza Allen Starr claims Howe and Garnett are exactly alike. Howe wrote to Anna Hanson Dorsey denying Dorsey's contention expressed in her writings that European piety is sentimental and shallow.
