Conformably to Edwards' request, he wrote his reminiscences of Prof. Max Girac. Judge Howard may desire to avail himself of Carrier's souvenirs of the great musician. He may write a short notice of Prof. Stanislaus Beleke. He is afraid Timothy Howard will have little time to complete the history of Notre Dame. The question has arisen at a conference of the Congregation in Montreal, whether their correct title is Religious of Holy Cross or Religious of the Holy Cross. Since Carrier did not push the fact that the question had been decided in 1872 at a General Chapter, the article, the, was adopted. He also furnished him with a short autobiography in case he includes such things in the history. Howard tells him that Edwards is of great service to him.
