Mrs. Wood has enclosed a poem entitled "The Annunciation". Miss Starr advised her to send it and said that it would be better if Hudson patronized home talent more than so much from abroad. She is writing verses for her own pleasure and sends this one as an offering. A priest wrote commending her on some of her verses in the Ave Maria. Dallas has received Hudson's letters and papers. He has been saving some time for writing for Hudson but he has been busy with court martials trying three officers for misconduct. He is glad none of them belong to his regiment. They are to have Father Ferdinand Wolf, O.S.B., there the latter part of the month to say Mass enroute to Fort Elliot and on his return.
