Rufus Barrier (8th North Carolina Infantry). The letters are mostly directed to the brothers' father, Mathias Barrier, in Mt. Pleasant, Cabarrus County, North Carolina.

An accumulation of around 400 different pieces of published sheet music relating to baseball. The relationship may reside in the music's title or lyrics, in the sheet's cover graphics, or in some other identification with the game. Examples bear copyright dates ranging from 1860 to 1992. Baseball themed sheet music was especially common in the half-decade before World War I.
