These are some notes on the life of Bishop Thomas Galberry, O.S.A. prepared by Middleton. Born in 1836 in Ireland, brought to the U.S. in 1836. Came to Villanova in 1847. He received Edwards' notes on Father Michael E. Clarke and wonders if it is the same one. The Clarke he wants was born in 1819 and before entering the priesthood was a shoe-maker in Carthage, N.Y. He asks Edwards to add the sources whence he found the date.

Middleton has received some information and wishes to withdraw the statement made in a paper sent to Clarke that Father John Possidius O'Dwyer was preconized as the first Bishop of Savannah. This statement is not wholly warranted by the records in Rome. Despite the records of his order, Middleton sent to Rome for confirmation of O'Dwyer's appointment. He received the reply that O'Dwyer was not mentioned on the lists of the bishops of Savannah. :: I-2-n A.L.S. 2pp. 12mo.

John Schmidt and Elizabeth Viss intend to be joined in matrimony and begged to be dispensed from 2nd and 3rd Proclamation. Schmidt being a widower with children wants a mother for his children as soon as possible. Miettinger is living in peace and harmony with his whole congregation. Rousselon owes 36 francs for a subscription to La Voix de la Verité. His request is justified not only by Rousselon's subscription but also by the fact that subscriptions are payable in advance, that times are hard, expenses must be met, etc. The stationery on which this letter is written gives the subscription prices and conditions.
