Edwards' postal order for $18 was received. Sister Superior thanks him for procuring them the benefit of a special memento in the daily Mass offered at Notre Dame for the Benefactors. The name of their institution is also engraven on the plate inside the tabernacle of Sacred Heart Church to Notre Dame. They appreciate the Relic of the Holy Face. She owes Edwards thanks for the photograph of her patron St. Teresa. She has been in the infirmary since last November. Though her general health is good she is an incurable invalid. She has been reading Marcel Biong,S.J. life of St. Teresa. She does not find that America has been favored with any relic of the saint.

Clarke has written a complete and convincing account and established for history the truth of the circumstances of Dr. Silliman Ives' death. When the question was first put to Brady by his convert friend, he had no idea of publishing the answer. But Brady now thinks the evidence he has should be made known everywhere. Father Brady is disappointed not to have seen Brownson when he was in Boston, but very few of the faces are left at the college. He regrets the inadvertant omission of Brownson's name from the list of graduates and promises that the mistake will be corrected. Father John Power, Brownson's classmate, is now Vicar General of the Diocese of Worcester; George Lloyd, who is now a successful merchant, has a son here at the College. :: III-3-b A.L.S. 2pp. 12mo.

Bishop Brandel does not want McMaster to have any misconception of the matter they were talking of this morning. In the official letter of Archbishop James Gibbons the words, "in connection with the Catholic Indian Bureau", may be interpreted two ways. The little colony arrived here yesterday. Their school is increasing. Brands saw Timon's sister, Mrs. Douglas, last Tuesday. She had been very ill the night before.
