He was informed by a subscriber of the Journal that a lottery would take place in Denver city, Colorado for the benefit of the Sisters. He sent $5 for a ticket but received none and received no answer to a letter written to the agent concerning it. As this took place in August, he has reasons to believe that a fraud had been committed, and so asks McMaster's opinion of the affair. Novall objects; one dollar per day for his work at the chapel and sixty-two and a half cents per perch at the Seminary is the lowest Novall will take. The writer of the article on the miraculous cure of Mary Wilson which appeared in the Ave Maria used the expression mental apparition, which has been interpreted as meaning an apparition, that was not real but only imaginary.
