Scope and Contents Egan has finished his paper which he hopes to read himself. Donahoe wants the m(anu)s(cript) by Aug(ust) 5, in time for the September number. Onahan is asked to glance at it. The paper aims only to be practical and to touch only the glaring needs of most colleges. Egan has cut the paper to one-half hour. It should be understood, and not tire anybody. Mollie's picture appears in the C(atholic) W(orld?). Those distinguished women certainly needed her face to brighten their group. But she will...

Hickey informed Egan that Hudson did not look well. Hudson must not work so hard. He is planning to advocate a pilgrimmage to Notre Dame in McGee's Journal. He...

He knows Onahan's interest in Notre Dame did not cool with Father (Thomas E.) Walsh's death. He shall give some people in New York a piece of his mind. If "The North American" will give him ten pages he will astonish some lay Catholics. He has recovered his bearings about the "Post" incident. With McMillan's letters he can shut snarling tongues. He has heard lately of some very kind things Edwards has said of him. He must honestly say if he were as disinterested and as constant as Edwards in his love for the ideal, he should have less need of humility.  Item — Box CHUD 2

He sends Hudson his own picture which flatters him as it gives him too much flesh. Egan informs Hudson that "Preludes" is to be...
