Scope and Contents

A. James McAdams Collection of Eastern European Dissident Materials comprises 16 folders of materials relating to dissident groups and subject files on notable historians. Materials cover topics from East Germany pre-unification, the German Democratic Republic (GDR/DDR), Hungarian anti-communist groups, Polish solidarity, and subject files on historians whose work relates to dissident groups. Formats include books, medals, serials, emblems, CDs, and subject files.

A group of more than 30 real-photo postcards, many inscribed, preserved by English boxing trainer Alec Goodman. Most relate to world welterweight champion Ted "Kid" Lewis, whom Goodman trained.

A substantial collection of manuscript material, photographs, and printed matter relating to the All-American Girls Baseball League, a women's professional league active in the American Midwest from 1943 to 1954. Included is a set of nine loose-leaf notebooks compiled by South Bend Blue Sox executive Harold T. Dailey, comprising a kind of documentary history of the league.

Collection of various items by and about the early twentieth century French poet Anna de Noailles, consisting largely of autograph letters from Noailles to various correspondents, and reviews and criticism of Noailles' work in various early twentieth century publications. A number of images and photographs of Noailles are also included, some of which carry inscriptions in her hand.

Personal, professional, and political correspondence and other papers of the Mississippi lawyer, planter, and politician George Colin McKee (1837-1890). McKee was a "carpetbagger" and moderate Republican who represented the Vicksburg district in Congress during Reconstruction. Most of the material dates from the 20 years following the Civil War, though there are McKee family papers extending into the 20th century.

The George Koyt Short Track Motor Racing Photographs comprises 459 photographs of short track racetracks in the United States and Canada. The collection contains images of speedways primarily located in the Midwest, East Coast, and one in Manitoba, Canada. Photographs capture mid-race shots, signage, fans, cars, and general layout of the raceways. Some images include racers such as Jody Ridley, Patrick Gann, and Tony Weyant, among others.
