Coming at a time when Caillet was discouraged because of lack of teachers, means and of good will, McMaster's articles have confirmed Caillet in his convictions. Before coming to Monroe, Callaert thought all had been settled between Lefevere and Father Edward Joos in regard to support but he has experienced the contrary. Callaert told Joos that the revenue should be divided equally or almost equally with one who has half of the work to do. If it is not divided that way it will be impossible to live "friendly" together and he would be glad, though he likes Monroe, to be allowed to remain in his missions. :: III-2-i A.L.S. 3pp. 8vo.
