Edwards owes him a letter from '95. Since he last saw Edwards he has seen the greater part of the United States. If he succeeds with his drawing he will take up newspaper work. People tell him that he has talent and advise him to take up painting. He now sees that he learned more at Notre Dame than all the rest of his schooling.

She hopes Hudson has received all the books. O'Meara came off here to rest. The parish priest came here 24 years ago to stay a few months. When he went back to his convent the people compelled the bishop to let them have Padre Giacomo ba ck again. O'Meara is getting up a concert for him to build a new church. O'Meara delayed writing to Hudson until she finished writing the biography of the Cure d' Ars, which she sends to Hudson. A friend startled her by remarking that Monsignor de Segur told him that the Cure d' Ars, St. John Baptist Vianney, could never be canonized because he had uttered some heretical doctrine. Scope and Contents The Superior of the Sisters of Mercy in Ireland has asked her to make a little sketch of the life of Mother M. Teresa Kelly. She thinks this sketch would find a place in the Ave Maria, and if Hudson is of the same opinion, she will send it to him. It will run about ten or twelve pages of the magazine. How she is looking forward to meeting Mother Mary Angela Gillespie, who is in Paris and has written her, requesting a visit. She also hopes to see Cardinal John McCloskey before he leaves....

Mr. Hugh Chapman, an Anglican priest whom O'Meara has been attempting to trap into the fold, has taken up the subject of DeVeuster with zeal. Her return voyage to Europe was terrible. O'Meara is glad she carried out Hudson's commission satisfactorily. If the Expulsion Law is passed it may cause a Revolution.
