O'Meara, Geraldine M., Brighton, England, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1890 August 30

 Item — Box: CHUD 15
Identifier: CHUD X-3-l

Scope and Contents

The proofs of the sketches are in print. Nothing can have been more tiresome than Burns and Oates all through the affair. Even the Cardinal's sending to them Father Kenelm Vaughn seemed to have no effect. They will not publish her sister's Kathleen O'Meera last sketch. O'Meara has given it to Father Wolesley, O.P., who is working hard for the beatification of the Cure' d' Ars. Wolesley is giving the sketch to the Catholic Faith Society. O'Meara will send Hudson a copy of the other sketches when they appear with the Cardinal's Henry Edward Manning preface. She saw His Eminence the other day and he looked well and cheerful. O'Meara asks Hudson if he has read Manning's words at the Oratory at the service for John Henry Cardinal Newman. Manning said it was a magnificent function. O'Meara has been in Germany for the past two months. Her loneliness is very great. :: X-3-l A.L.S. 6pp. 16mo.
