He offers his respects and congratulates him on the satisfying state of his health and his happy return after his long absence. Hosts finally obtained the desired permission to leave. He is now a boarder with the Trappists at Gethsemani. He could not find a better place in order to prepare himself for death. The pastor of Clarksville Father P. J. He continues to ask humbly when affairs will be able to be arranged. He is the son of M.J. Hote whom Blanc knows. It is through Blanc that Charles is in Philadelphia and that he is in a first class shop. But he is worried about his father; he has had no letters from him. Marc Anthony? Frenaye has written to him but also has no reply. Could he be ill; or have had an accident? Houbart brought Bishop William Lawrence Louis Angebault the letter which Odin had enclosed for him. He does not know the contents, but he supposes it satisfied Angebault because he made no objection to giving Louis Chassé, Joseph Subileau, and Joseph Viau to Odin. Three or four seminarians of the diocese of Angers plan to follow Archbishop Odin. They lack only the agreement of Bishop William Lawrence Louis Angebault of Angers. That agreement depends upon a financial arrangement between the two prelates. He regrets that he cannot help Edwards more in his laudable enterprise. He sends the first faculties Bishop Amadeus Rappe received. They are in bad condition. The document is dated July 4, 1847. The Bulls for Rappe's appointment on file in Cleveland are dated Apr. 23, 1847. Rappe was not consecrated Bishop until Oct. 10, 1847. Note: The Document is attached and is signed by J. B.
