In regard to Portsmouth, he decided that perhaps he ought to go. He is not necessary in Chillicothe and Portsmouth is in sad need of a priest. Perhaps the numerous missions now attended from Chillicothe might be too heavy a burden for one priest. Mr. Leitner left to affiliate himself with the Marquette diocese. Daniel E. Hudson was intent on going too, but Father General Rev. Edward Sorin, C.S.C. discussed him. Part of the decrees of the general chapter of 1872 were read yesterday. He gives a list of the obediences and would like to make bets on some of them. The Scholastics have not received theirs yet. Mr. Frank Bigelow has verbal orders to go to New Brunswick. There are rumors that Mr. Daniel E. Hudson C.S.C. is going to Rome or France.
