According to the indications of Father Frederick Rese, the Central Direction of the Association has allotted 25,000 francs to each of the diocese of St. Louis, Kentucky, Charleston, South Carolina and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and 17,500 for the diocese of Cincinnati. Before Archbishop Leray read McMaster's favor this morning, he told Thiards to withdraw his name from the appeal as he had to have the appeal in his own home. The debts compiled by Archbishop Napoleon Perche are also his. He also consulted the Hon. H.P. Semmes and Fernandez, the justice of the State Supreme Court. The footnotes giving the exceptions are in the handwriting of Richard and allow the use of eggs, milk products and oil or fats. Dispensations must be obtained each year from Baltimore.
