Stoddard, Charles Warren, Washington, District of Columbia, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1890 November 20

 Item — Box: CHUD 15
Identifier: CHUD X-3-l

Scope and Contents

Had Stoddard not met the Ave Maria in Rome ages ago he would never have written to Hudson. Had he not written Stoddard would never have gone to Notre Dame. Had he not gone to Notre Dame Hudson would never have talked to Bishop John Joseph Keane, Stoddard would not have been ill and gone to Kentucky to be rescued by the Theodore Vails and taken to Rome where the Bishop asked Stoddard to join his forces. Stoddard does not think Fay Adams has anything of his. Hudson had frightened Stoddard out of sending the Legend of Lanai. What was the trouble at Notre Dame? Did Hudson care for any of those who were sent away? Theodore Dwight is there. Now that Henry Adams is away he finds the house too lonely. :: X-3-l A.L.S. 4pp. 12mo.
