Stoddard, Charles Warren, Waihee, Maui, Hawaiian Islands, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1884 May 29
Scope and Contents
Stoddard thanks Hudson for the picture of St. Aloysius and the letters of Father Lacordaire . He would like Lacordaire's letters in French. Stoddard has no notes of Father Junipero Serra . Hudson had best ask Father Joachim Adam to prepare a paper. Father Angelo Casanova discovered the body of Serra after it had long been a mystery where it lay. This was written up about two years ago in the San Francisco Chronicle. Stoddard encloses a clipping. Stoddard's health is good but his spirits are ebbing. He would like to return to the United States. He has received the manuscript from Daniel Paul and thot it would not interest the general reader. Stoddard received a letter from Father Fidelis :: X-2-m A.L.S. 8pp. 12mo.
