Contrary to the author's assertion, for the past four years there has been an Association of Honorary Members of the Society of the Helpers of the Holy Souls in the United States making preparation for the establishment of this Society in the United States. Le Gros hopes this letter will find Timon arrived safely at New Orleans. He has sent the two boxes on the ship Russel, addressed to Bishop Anthony Blanc. The boxes came by stage coach without a customs permit for the small one. Except for that, Timon would have received them on the boat Grace Brown. The charges are $22.50. He was much surprised to learn from the Catholic Review that an oil painting of the late Bishop William Tyler, first Bishop of Hartford, was to be seen at Notre Dame. It seems improbable that the features of the saintly bishop could be painted by one who never saw him. LeProhon attended the bishop for many years and was much impressed with his dignity. Leander sends two copies of the "Catholic Youth". In one there is a letter written by a thirteen year old boy named George McLaughlin and in the other a puzzle by a girl named Mary Mulqueen .
