Stoddard, Charles Warren, Brookland, District of Columbia, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1889 November 25

 Item — Box: CHUD 14
Identifier: CHUD X-3-k

Scope and Contents

Stoddard gave his first lecture at Catholic University today. He got through alright, but he does not know if the forty students understood or liked it. He fears Bishop John J. Keane expects too much from him. If he were not at Catholic University, Stoddard thinks he would be content to lose himself in obscurity and try to scribble enough to make a living. He did not see John Boyle O'Reilly, Father Fidelis Stone, C.P. or Father Edmund Hill, C.P. or anybody on that dreadful day. He requests Hudson send his sister twenty-five dollars. :: X-3-k A.L.S. 4pp. 4to.
