Osuf thanks Hudson for publicity in the Ave Maria in behalf of the leper hospital. Their situation has changed in the mission. They have letters whereby the Pope has instituted a hierarchy in Japan. There are four sees: Tokyo, Nagasaki, Osaka and Hakodate. :: X-3-m A.L.S. French 4pp. 12mo.

Eusebius told a Mrs. Sheats of Nashville, Tennessee to send her nephew to Notre Dame and "it would not cost her a single cent." Otis finds life at Fort Meade most monotonous. Spiritually the winter was a drought since the nearest priest is fifteen miles away. He looks forward to a visit to Notre Dame. Mrs. Otis' health has improved. Otis finds numbers 36 and 48 of the Ave Maria missing and requests that these copies be sent to him. Otis' father sent Father Sorin a testimonial of their love and respect. Otis feels indebted to Sorin for many things that he would not part with and like all pupils of Notre Dame, his respect for him increases.
