Henni hopes Purcell will not be offended because he cannot come. He intends to apply $1,000 of the bequest towards the purchase of a property for an industrial school for boys, under the care of the Christian Brothers . Henni will send Purcell's letter to Bishop Michael Heiss in order to acquaint the latter with Mrs. Mullone's kind offer. Henni regrets that he has not received a copy of Purcell's late controversy. Patrick McKennan, now in Chicago has written Henni that he would come into his diocese if Henni would receive and ordain him soon. Since McKennan does not have his exeat and has received minor orders from Lefevere, as Henni learned from Mr. Doyle, Henni begs Lefevere to tell him about the applicant.
