Hudson asks Henry to send him the set, one each month. For many years, serving in poor parishes, he was unable to read Brownson, whom he greatly admires. Because of the charity Hudson displayed to Father T M. Schiffmacher 's poor Missions of Red Oak, Iowa, he is encouraged to ask a similar charity in his own misfortunes. He lives in a poor mission and almost all ever done there was by moneys gotten from outside. Last Saturday a cyclone struck the little town and destroyed the church and pastoral residence. O'Flanagan was ordained priest on December 22. He has been at Louvain upwards of four years. O'Flynn is making every effort to pack the hall and requests Lefevere to announce the lecture in the cathedral and other churches.
