Harson, M.J., Providence, Rhode Island to James F. Edwards, Notre Dame, Indiana, 1903 June 12
Harson, M.J., Providence Rhode Island to James F. Edwards, Notre Dame, Indiana, 1904 June 27
He never spent four days more pleasantly and was never more royally treated than during his recent visit to Notre Dame. He was deeply impressed with all he saw. His mission to St. Louis was not successful. Archbishop John J. Glennon was cold and indifferent to the proposal of a Catholic Congress and Archbishop John Ireland was opposed to it. Cardinal James Gibbons is in favor of the idea but will not sanction it as so many of the bishops are opposed to it. :: XI-2-g A.L.S. 4pp.
Harson,M. J., Providence, Rhode Island, to William J. Onahan, Chicago, Illinois, 1891 November 20

When Harson notified the Archbishop of their appointments as honorary members, he informed them that Onahan would send a copy of his report shortly. :: IX-1-c A.L.S. 2pp. 12mo

McGinness graduated from their Catholic high school, is a clear writer and speaker; he has yet to decide between the priesthood and journalism. If Onahan can introduce him to a few Catholic organizations, it would be a help in the right direction. (Card signed by McGinniss attached.)

Harty, W.A., Waterbury, Connecticut, to Richard Henry Clarke, New York, New York, 1884 December 18
Answering Clarke's of Dec.11, Harty says it is impossible to furnish the data relating to the life and episcopate of Bishop Thomas Galberry . Father P.A. Stanton of Philadelphia was a life-long friend of the bishop. Father Daniel Kelley of Bridgeport was his chancellor and secretary. Father P.J. McCabe, Rector of the Cathedral in Hartford seems to be well posted on facts about priests and bishops of that diocese. :: I-2-n A.L.S. 1p. 4to.
Hase, Frederick C., Perryville, Missouri, to Father John Timon, C.M., Barrens, Missouri, 1834March 15
Mrs. Meagher Ellen Maher? received this day a few lines touching her little concern in Illinois. When can she receive from Timon his comfort and advice on the matter in controversy between her and James? O'Hara, to enable her thereby to gain the point proposed. :: IV-3-i A.L.S. 2pp. 8vo.
Hase, Frederick C., Perryville, Missouri, to Father John Timon, C.M., Barrens, Missouri, 1834 June 17
Mrs. Meagher Ellen Maher? has perused James O'Hara's letter and thinks his offer very ungenerous. Hase thinks so likewise. If he had offered 2 or 3 hundred dollars Hase would have advised her to agree but not on these terms. O'Hara must have forgotten his half-brother whom she has maintained and clothed for several years. $50 would not compensate her for that. :: IV-3-i A.L.S. 2pp. 4to.

Haskins, Father George F., Boston, Massachusetts, to Bishop Francis P. McFarland of Hartford, Providence, Rhode Island, 1863 May 5
John McGirr thinks he would like the place McFarland proposes for him. If placed with a strict master he will likely do well. If granted indulgence he will take advantage of it. He has a strong will and is at time sullen, but can be managed. He is dull or perhaps slow and like his brothers does not like school and when in school makes sorry progress. :: I-1-b A.L.S. 1p. 12mo.

Haskins, Father George F., Boston, Massachusetts, to Father James Roosevelt Bayley, New York, New York, 1847 May 28
Haskins has a great many things to say to Bayley which he does not like to commit to paper. Does Bayley ever hear of his old friend John Williams ? Haskins has great faith that some members of his own family may enter the Church. Haskins fulfilled Bayley's commission and encloses a receipt for the $30. Poor George J. Goodwin is rapidly failing and the doctors think he not live through June. :: II-2-n A.L.S. 2pp. 4to.
