He asks Edwards if a student couldn't copy documents for his "Researches", he will pay the copying charges. Even if Edwards gave him a letter a week it would get much in print. His son, Martin, has entered his 4th year at St. Paul and has 4 more to serve before ordination if God permits.

Credit did not appear for that New Orleans document by one of those odd turn of affairs that happen against one's inclinations. He wrote in on the proof sheet but the printer did not add it. Catholics woefully lack historical writers. Our intellectually gifted men lack devotion to the Church's honor and so will not seek the material. Griffin wants to simply save the documents. Then the writers in due time will come out.

He does not think much of the extract from the Smyth pamphlet historically if its statements are like that about James Fund. He presented a new theory about that Fund a few years ago. In no history is there any such event spoken of as James' efforts to convert the Quakers. He enquires about exchanges in newspapers.
