Muir, Marion, Morrison, Colorado, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1883 July 24
Item — Box: CHUD 5
Identifier: CHUD X-2-l
Scope and Contents
Muir does not like English writers and makes comments on works by a number of them. She has seen that poet of the Sierras going the rounds. Morality is unnecessary in poetry but when a man with partners of assorted colors talks of a young girl's education it is time for some decent laborer to pick him up and drop him out the window. He wrote two Colorado stories and precious slush they were. She ceases to wonder that the Police Gazette out sells such high toned literature. :: X-2-l A.L.S. 4pp. 12mo.
