He graduated in 1880 in the commercial course at Notre Dame and was validictorian of his class. In New York City he graduated from the best cutting school of the country and is one of the best artists in his line of business. Delano kept the letter Seton sent during the summer and he has looked for the "Home Journal" in the Astor and Cooper Union Libraries but in vain. Understanding that Seton was going abroad very soon, Delano put off his letter until he might write of the pleasure he found in Seton's articles. He cannot find a volume of the "Curio;" he will write again to tell Seton that he has read the Heraldry.

Some weeks ago Delano read all Seton's articles on heraldry in the Home Journal. He found many things worth remembering for his work, particularly "Heraldry," "Points of Heraldry," "Family Names," etc. He also saw in the "Cosmopolitan" Seton's famous Queen Mary of Scots painting.

Over a week ago he sent two boxes of books as he has proposed to Father Edward Sorin C.S.C.. He thanks Sorin and Edwards for the letter of acceptance of his poor donation. He suggests an inscription to place near his library. Many of the books are old and scarce. His poor library has probably travelled more thousands of miles than any other. He sends a catalogue of the larger portion of his library, many scarce precious old volumes of 1st class Catholic writers. He has several times enjoyed the hospitality of Notre Dame, especially in the passion-week of 1874, when he was treated the way Sorin knows by ex-Bishop Caspar H. Borgess of Detroit.
