He has been pushed to utter disregard of the amenities of life, so much sickness and nursing; and patients are scattered far and near. He received the water for analysis and wants Edwards to be guided by his judgment. It is plainly Bright's disease. Edwards must take good care of himself, regular hours and meals, plain diet. Many of his thoughts are of Edwards whose photo is above his desk. Edwards' plan of life last summer was ideal. Travelling to cities and receiving the attentions of friends is no rest for Edwards. Edwards needs quiet. Baraga in the forests of Michigan was a fine place for Edwards. Edwards must consult the kindney specialist in Cincinnati, Dr. Mott. It is a merry and a sad life that a professional man often meets with in the daily routine and no Christianity but rank agnosticism and materialism is stalking around. Edwards should not forget to take his liver pills and tell him just how he is in health. He encloses a medal commemorating the hundredth anniversary of the Holy Cross Cathedral; he explains about the church on the medal.
