Scope and Contents Father J. Daudet has appealed to the Archbishop about the sentence passed against him by Bishop Pierre Adolph Pinsonneault of Sandwich. Daudet has asked Baillargeon to transmit his plea to the Holy Father. As administrator of the province, he cannot refuse to do this. He asks Lefevere, who knows Daudet, to tell what he knows of him, so that the court at Rome may judge. Several priests have assured him that Daudet was of irreproachable reputation but have not heard of him for several years....

St. Joseph's college is the publisher, the book having been printed in Zanesville. He looks upon McMaster as the champion of Papal infallibility and greatly admires him. The Freeman's Journal is the only one to receive copies of the book and they may feel at liberty to make any comments on it. She does not clearly understand the meaning of Hudson's letter of November 6th. If by hesitating to admit "Farther Shore" to the children's section of the Ave Maria he meant to imply that he preferred it in the adult section Hudson has her permission to place it there. Miss Baldwin sends an account of the death of Sister Helena Elder for the Ave Maria, in which her sister, Baldwin's mother, took an interest. The account is on the same sheet: Sister died at St. Joseph's House, Emmitsburg Maryland. She was the daughter of Basil S. Elder and sister of Archbishop William Henry Elder.
