The announcement in the papers of Mrs. Carrington's arrival from Europe is misleading; she has not been to Europe. Her health is better and the cool air of Lake Ontario confirms it. Mrs. Carrington sympathizes with Hudson on the death of his father. She likes very much the article on the volume of poems and will send for them. The Ave Maria is dearer to her than ever. She was powerfully affected by the diary of the imprisonment of the Bishop of Corea. Even when he was released he felt the power of his mission so much as to accuse himself of abandoning his flock. Cavanaugh, C.S.C. was there at an Alumni banquet; no one let Frank Carroll know.
