Oechtering arrived in Antwerp on May 19th. On May 28th he made his promised pilgrimage to the Shrine at Telgte. The atmosphere is very Catholic, even though the Cultur-Kampf is still going on. Oechtering assisted at the consecration of a new church at Mesum. Bishop Herman Dingelstadt of Munster took part in the ceremonies.
