Shaw seeks information about Richard Carroon, who came to Vicksburg two years ago with Mr. Newitter of the firm Switzer, Newitter and Company. Her daughter Mary was a clerk in this store until Shaw withdrew her last October, because she became engaged to marry Carroon. Carroon says he was a brother for seven years at Notre Dame.
