The question has arisen at a conference of the Congregation in Montreal, whether their correct title is Religious of Holy Cross or Religious of the Holy Cross. Since Carrier did not push the fact that the question had been decided in 1872 at a General Chapter, the article, the, was adopted. Father Urbain Guillet, O.S.C.O. came in 1805, but he and all the Trappists in America excepting Vincent and a few brothers returned to France under Dom Augustine de Lestrange, O.C.S.O. in 1814.
