On the preceding page Blanc has the bill of lading and Murphy's bill for Blanc's order of April 5, 1842. He has added books of the Cabinet Library, a series of juvenile books. Should Blanc approve, Murphy would be pleased to have Blanc call the attention of the Catholic bookseller in New Orleans to them. Murphy is sorry to have missed seeing Onahan. He wonders whether the program of the (Columbian) Catholic Congress is definitely arranged, especially in regard to the sale of his paper on "Free Catholic High Schools." He also asks for a dozen entrance cards for relatives and friends. His paper is almost read. Murphy dined with Archbishop (John) Ireland, and the Apostolic delegate (Archbishop Francis Satolli) in St. Paul. The Archbishop expects great success for the Congress.

The communication in reference to the Columbian Catholic Congress has been received. The selection of delegates from Holy Ghost College will be attended to soon. As an educationist, he regrets the late date of the Congress since it will be difficult to attend. He is interested in several topics which he would like to see treated at the Congress, mainly, Catholic Education, Labor and Capital, and Columbus.

He was delighted on the receipt of Zahm's letter for praise from Notre Dame is praise indeed. Yes, it is Zahm's old friend Murphy who is managing the new paper, The Catholic Times, the one whose first efforts in journalism was as one-third editor of the Scholastic back in the '60s. Many years ago a project was formulated to keep in memory school days, called The Scholastic Year. About six months ago Mrs. S.C. Colmesvil, Murphy's mother, wrote to Perché to know if the could discover anything relative to Murphy's father, J.G. Colmesvil being in the battle of New Orleans. If any one gives an affidavit they could secure the person without any difficulty.
