Identifier: CANO VI-1-g
Scope and Contents Blanc has been here since day before yesterday. Father Peter Lucas has just brought the package Rousselon addressed to Lucas, dated the 10th. The note for $883.33 1/3; is, Blanc believes, the first of those which he agreed on last year with Michel Ogé to which the interest has been added. Identifier: CANO VI-1-e
Scope and Contents Blanc arrived last night; he got the correspondance Rousselon sent by Father Francis Mittelbronn . Blanc wrote before leaving Iberville. He approves what Rousselon did for the temporary relief of Algiers . As for Father Basile, he must be told that, not wanting to admit him to the diocese, after his secularization, it would not be fitting to take him provisionally. As for Father Bernard O'Hara, he says he cannot leave before May 12 or 15 as he has spent for the interior of the church,...

Scope and Contents Blanc arrived here yesterday at 7:15, having left Lafayette at 2:45. They had set, to come from Pont du Bayou Tortue, as much time as to come from there to Lafayette. This part of the road is awful! Since Monday of last week, they have had incessant rain--no time to speak of the trip from Vermillion to Abbeville. Confirmations, everywhere, reflect the state of the roads. He was about to decide to leave here for New Orleans and put off a visit to all the places around here. But Father Ange...

Scope and Contents Rousselon will have received a few words from Blanc before this. Since then he remembers that in his last, Rousselon said he had received two trunks which he supposed were those of Father Gilbert Raymond . This is very probable but is it not four on the shipping order? Since Blanc has been here they have had no heavy rains, but every day a few squalls which makes him hope for a change in the weather. Unless there is, on leaving here, next Monday, Blanc will not stop at New Iberia except to...

Her health had not been good and the doctor advised her to take the waters at Mont Dore near Clermont. Scope and Contents Blanc arrived at 11:30 P.M. A deplorable accident happened day before yesterday. The young German Blanc sent recently from New Orleans with the young Irishman drowned in the Bayou while all were in bathing. If Father J.M.
