It would be well for Edwards to send money to Mr. Ewing direct. He regrets that Msgr. Joseph Rosati's portrait is not satisfactory. The Professor Lugi Gregori is finishing his last picture in the Cathedral; his works have excited the greatest admiration. The Bishop is delighted with his portrait. He expressed a box containing a wooden crozier of Bishop Mathias Loras and one of his mitres. The Bishop John Hennessy gave them to Luigi Gregori who asked for them as models. The Bishop does not know their destination or the value they attach to them. He has sent Edwards a chasuble, mozetta, two pairs of sandals, three pairs of pontifical hose belonging to Bishop Mathias Loras, first bishop of Dubuque. They gave Gregori for Edwards a mitre and crozier of Loras. Edwards has sandals and mitre of Bishop Clement Smith, Smyth second bishop of Dubuque.
