Though Dallas reads the Scholastic each week he has failed to see Montrose Graham 's name in the Roll of Honor. Dallas received a letter from Sister Sienna at Austin dated the 27th stating that his daughter Marie could not be accommodated. This was after receiving a telegram from Sister Mildred, now visiting Notre Dame, telling Dallas that his daughter was accepted at the academy in Austin. He would like clarification of this confusing situation. If his daughter must be taken to Washington he wishes Sister Florentine would be transferred there. :: X-2-j A.L.S. 4pp. 12mo.

Dallas has received Hudson's letters and papers. He has been saving some time for writing for Hudson but he has been busy with court martials trying three officers for misconduct. He is glad none of them belong to his regiment. They are to have Father Ferdinand Wolf, O.S.B., there the latter part of the month to say Mass enroute to Fort Elliot and on his return. Hudson's letter received today. Dallas has been called to Washington on business by wire today. He will be in Washington until March 2, when he will leave for South Bend. If Dallas is promoted he will go to San Felipe which is 165 mile from San Antonio and 35 miles from Brackettville, where Sadlier says there is a church. Old Mexico is 4 or 5 miles away. His wife has just returned from Washington bringing the last Scholastic with her. In it they saw where Hudson has been ill from a fall. He asks Hudson to send the Scholastic and the Ave Maria to his new address and tells him that he will do anything in the city that Hudson may want done.
