Kelly makes the following suggestions on the Catholic Congress of 1893: The delegates should be limited in number, and leaders of thought should be chosen; foreign citizens should not be admitted to the Congress; the Public school question should hear the voices of special delegates of "our separated brethren." As the general term of their court convenes Oct. 5th and continues until July, Kelly's opportunities to go to Chicago are limited. He may be able to get off for a day after Oct. 5. He fully agreed with the Bishop as to the lines which will be pursued at the next Congress. If the school question and "Kindred debatable questions" are to be left out, Kelly will be pleased. Kemper sends $10. to aid the Carmelite Convent in Baltimore, Maryland. He sends a few words stating his motives and asks that they be communicated along with the gift. Hudson's letter and remittance received for the $4 he has sent the "Miniature Religious Art Gallery." Kemper thanks Hudson in advance for the notice in the Ave Maria, the only Catholic paper solicited, as he values the sayings of it above all others. In the box Hudson will find a package of pictures that do not belong to the Gallery as yet, but were lately received from the same publishers. A similar package is enclosed for Father Granger. Hudson's letter containing $1 for the pictures of St. Stanislaus has been received. Kemper will send a few specimens of Easter cards. While Kemper thanks Hudson for his offer to recommend Kemper's work in the Ave Maria, he asks that it not be done yet, for his line is not as complete as he would like it. B. Kuehlen has not got very far in the "packet" line. Kemper sent Hudson a number of them lately. He received free samples from Kuehlen a few days ago and he sends these to Hudson. Kemper sends a copy of the little Rosary book. Today he will send to Paray-le-Monial a collection of the "Promises" in about 155 languages. He also sent one to Monsignor Genveun. He has received the money for wich he sends 4 copies of his pamphlet. He had already sent the MS to Philadelphia. He has saved all the letters written by his bishops since 1872 and will arrange that they go to Memorial Hall. Father J. Orth of Keokuk has letters of Bishops Mathias Loras and Clement Smyth. Father J. G. Alleman who sied in 1863 had some letters of interest from loras, but Kempker has not been able to trace them

The pamphlets were undoubtedly lost; wherefore he sends others. He would be glad to have some Lourdes water. Anything that Edwards con send on Bishop Mathias Loras will be conscienciously used for his writings. He asks if a file of German papers, The "Iowa" of Dubuque would be of service to Memorial Hall.

Kenby would propose that Odin send him somewhere else to study as he feels he will hardly get his health at Bouligny. He could have gone to Europe free of expense and still has a hope he could go. Should Odin prefer to send him he will refund whatever expenses are incurred. P.S. He received his exeat a few days ago.
