They appeal once more to Lefevere to prevent the construction of a school house which will deprive them of a church for an indefinite period. Lefevere's instructions to Father Edward Van Lauwe were satisfactory but he has failed to prevent certain persons in their design and has compromised himself in favor of the school. ` P.S. The American Express Company took charge of two packages expressed to Edwards. The hugh candle used by Archbishop John Hughes at the procession on the day of the declaration of the Immaculate Conception is damaged in two places. The missal was given to Hughes by a convert.
