Boyle had never heard of the old pedigree Seton mentions. It is satisfactory to find so much authority for the belief Boyle had arrived at as to the parentage of Margaret Seton Scrymgeour. Perhaps George Seton can show Boyle the paper Seton mentions; Boyle will look for it at the British Museum. Boyle thanks Mr. Faton for his kind suggestion.

Bradhurst thanks Seton for the letters he sent her in Rome. She never had the pleasure of meeting Monsignor Stonor although he called several times. Abbot Smith was very kind to her and if she had more time, he would have shown her about even more than he did. She hopes Seton will stop to see her when he is in New York and she will then tell him what she has done in the last six months. The bearer of this is willing to go to Boston but Bradley cannot urge her to do so. Alone and without friends she would be too much exposed. She is willing to make the sworn statement but she does not want personally to bring odium on the Congregation. The malice was so light that Bradley doubts that there was solicitation. In emotional language, Father Carolus urged American Catholics to be more generous in their charities. He commends McMaster upon his work of mercy, but fears that too few priests and lay persons heed the call of charity. He trusts that McMaster will save the honor of Catholic America. This project concerned admission into the Detroit Diocese of the Sisters of St. Bridget from Ireland.
