In 1878 he wrote and delivered the Alumni poem at Commencement and it was published in the Scholastic. He wishes a copy of the poem to establish claim of literary merit to help him secure a certain appointment in the city. He never had a copy of that issue. :: XI-1-f A.L.S. 1p. 8vo.

Father Reuben Parsons started for New York before Hudson's letter arrived, because of his mother's illness. Parsons has returned, but is too upset over his mother's death to answer the letter.
